330 pv run hot warped piston?

i have a esr 330 pv and started running hot. removed the radiator cap and started seeing a few bubbles so i pulled the head off the rubber o-ring had a burnt spot so that's probably where the gasket was blown but the piston was warped on top do you think the water could have caused this

What do you mean that the piston is warped. Most pistons are domed not flat.
