Hey guys.

Anyone plan on going out to Ashland, PA this Saturday?

We might be going but aren't 100% sure. Most likely, though. I wanted to see if I might see some of you up there. Im on a 2005 400ex with an alien pipe, its very distinctive and can be heard from a mile away, lol:D

Or, my dad is on a red banshee with FMF pipes and his friend is on a 07 Gray YFZ450 with red HMF pipe. Possibly my cousin too, on a purpleish banshee with FMF pipes.

Who might be going up there?

Clearfield County or Schuylkill County, where is Ashland and are there some mean hillclimbs.

Not quite sure what county.

I know its somewhere in central PA. We're in the Brodheadsville/Stroudsburg area and its about an 1hr 25min ride, give or take some.

It has some crazy hillclimbs. Play hills, medium hills, and just crazy hills.

Heres one of the huge ones. Sheer loose slate. (note how small the quad looks)

its a great place to ride if you like coalmines. Theres actually nice trails too.

1) Trails

2) Soot pits

3) Hills

4) Drags/fire roads

5) play areas

Plus much more. You can't cover the place in one day. Its near trevorton btw.
Were you thinkin bout heading up there?

Ugh @ssland! I used to drive through there going to my camp when I'd drive my mount aloysius. There is nothing in that town.

LOL.

The town is small, but nice. It had little convience stores everywhere.

The actual coalmine is HUGE though. You have to actually ride there to see it. You CAN'T cover the place in one day. Theres trails that lead to Shamokin, Trevorton, and Frackville. Very easy to get lost also, but we know a large portion of it right now.

Also, did you ever hear of the underground coalmine fires out in that area? Well we also know a trail that leads over to that abandoned road/town where the road is cracked and smoke pours out. Its neat as hell to watch. The road makes a good strip too:cool:

Probably one of the coolest places ever to ride.

We met a nice local up there on a black banshee. He showed us a couple more trails and places we've never seen, and might show us more on saturday. he lives up there and knows all the trails.

Heres two video's of him, just to get an idea of what ashland's like.

This is one of the crazy hills. The video makes it look less steep, but believe me, these hills are nothing to joke at.

That guy on the blue shee needs to A) stop shifting like a mack truck, B) seriously rejet

Make sure you clean your filters after riding in that coal dust stuff. One ride and it's DARK black.

lol, i don't know the guy on the blue banshee. Never met him. I seen him climb some knarly hills on youtube though. Only the guy on the black SE I met, and his ran great.

I still run my airbox lid and snorkel, along with a dual-stage prodesign foam filter. My filter never gets that bad actually.

I run bikes though. My airbox lid is pretty much my seat, so at the end of the day the filter is pretty gross looking. Ugh at the end of the day did you every sneeze and it comes out black? Happens to me all the time when I'm in that coal dust stuff.
