Quick Question.. WTF is this!?

Well after riding for a while today and really flogging on the quad I noticed that everything under the carb and back was covered with oil.. I'm pretty sure it's transmission oil but neither the engine or tranny levels are down that I can tell.

There was a hose that wasn't clamped to anything on one end and it was attached to the tube I circled in the picture on the other. I don't have a book so I'm not sure if that tube is a tranny breather or overflow or something? Also, what should the hose attach to on the other end of that?

Any other ideas on what would cause the oil all over the swing arm? No cracks in the case that I can find yet.

crackcase breather? maybe there is a tube that should be hooked to it i'm not sure

That is the tranny breather. You should have a tube from there up to the black heat sheild under the tank.

yeah, if you over fill the tranny it pukes it out

Thanks, thats exactly what I was looking for. I'll change the oil and make sure it's dead on this time, replace that hose and HOPEFULLY that solves my problem. If not, I'll keep troubleshooting lol.

The hose is under Cylinder on the parts finder.
