anyone adjust their valves on the ltz250 ?

I got the plastics and the gas tank off, got it to top dead center
removed the intake/exhaust cover nuts to access the adjustment
screws but .........................

I cant even get the angled feeler guage in there

I have searched the net for a service manual, either online or to purchase but no luck (surely they make one ?)

it dont look too hard to understand, just a screw with a jam-nut
open it to spec and tighten back down but I cant get a guage in there...............................

what am I doing wrong ?

I dont want to drag it 45min to the suzuki dealer
thanks
Jimmy

I figured it out,

had to remove all the plastic and the gas tank

set the motor to top dead center

there are two removable access covers
(one for intake and one for exhaust)

under each is a small screw with a jamb nut, loosen the nut and turn the screw to set, then hold screw and tighten the nut

while I had everything uncovered I pulled the carb off and cleaned every jet/orfic then put it back together

it runs ALOT better............... time for some tires now

next time I adjust them, ill take pictures and add directions
so the next green-horn like me will have a clue

I did have to bend a set of feelers to get it into the very tight spot

no gaskets or anything where needed

I know where to get these shop manuals for 1/2 of what ebay's selling them for. Go to sell.com and search for suzuki service manuals..a seller has them just like the dealers...$35.00 out the door! Hope this helps since this particular manual is very hard to come by...as with ay info for service on these bikes.
