Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I have been searching the topic. I have my helm's/honda manual for my old civc and I am going to order one for my 300ex through Helm. I agree it by far exceeds an other manual I have ever used.

I have all three, for different models. Each has it's benefits and drawbacks.

Honda is good, but they always list Honda tools and tool numbers, as well as Honda chemicals like Hondabond and such. They don't give alternatives, nor do they give alternative methods if you don't have the exact Honda tool.

Clymer will give you alternative tools (or methods, if possible), and list equivalent chemicals to use if you don't have the genuine Honda chemicals.

I've had problems with Haynes manuals. I've only ever owned two of them, one for a Polaris, and another for a car. I've had problems with both. They were missing steps, and missing specifications, and I had to improvise. However, I have heard from a local shop that Haynes generally has a much better electrical section than even the OEM manual.

i have the clymer and the honda manual for the 400ex. i kind of like the clymer better, plus it is cheaper. both will get the job done though.

Honda Manual-40 or more dollars
Clymer Manual-30 or so bucks
Haynes Manual-20 or so bucks

My haynes for the 300ex/400ex hasn't failed me yet.
I like how clymer manuals are put together though.
