Called up C&D today and got everything squared with my cylinder and head but they told me the piston is a 10:8:1 I want to know how to get a true 11:1 comp, i've read that people use no base and 2 pieces of the head gasket is this accurate or what else needs to be done?

Does it have to be a je pistion because ross makes a 11.2 to 1 so that would be alittle closer.

i dont know about the head gasket but i use rtv instead of a base gasket and have no problems. i asked about the head gasket a week or two ago when i blew one and got no response. good luck

Yea it would be for a JE piston, I mean its no big deal if I can or can't I just wated to know for sure, cuz I see alot of people running JE pistons with 11:1 comp.

Well alot f ppl say they are 11 to 1 but not true 11 to 1 if I were you I wouldnt try the no base gasket. I would go with the xr headgasket however which is .027 and the stock is like.045 or something.

I bought a complete gasket kit so I kinda have to use the gaskets, the head gasket I have is a three layer gasket. What if I just use two layers? would that raise it some?

I guess that would help it a little but not alot. But you could get close to 11 to 1 most ppl dont have 11 to 1 they just call it that.

it would raise it some but personally i dont think itd be worth it. when you consider your going higher comp. you need all the help you can get to keep it sealed up

BigBore24 I think your right, after all why ruin a damn good motor right at the end RIGHT? I want it to seal good. I'm sure with the Stage 2 Cam and the P&P it should almost make up for it, either way i'm still gonna have great power.

Well I just wanted peoples take on this so im just gonna stick to what i'll get. Thanks Guys

There's nothing to "make up". You couldn't find a difference between a 10.8:1 piston and an 11:1 piston if you tried!

Thanks TRX for the input, i'm just gonna stick to what I got.

I'm happy with what im all getting so its all good, 2 weeks and i'll have everything back from Colby. Ive been thinking of grinding the header welds but idk how much to take?

an XR400 head gasket should make it a true 11:1. it is thinner, there for, it creates more compression.

Then I gotta try and sell my Namura head gasket. What year would I need if I went with a XR400 gasket?

i'm 90% sure it doesn't matter, but you might want to find a second opinion. i wouls say just try to get one from the same or around the same year as your motor.

Thats what I was thinking, it's $12 something from planethondaracing for the gasket, I may do that then atleast i'd have an extra gasket laying around in case something goes caput.

Thats too much for now, I have to wait anyways cuz I dont have enough money to buy the gasket. I'll think about it this week but idk if there would be a big gain from it?

Like TRXRacer said you couldnt find a difference between the two.
