sell my 06 trx 250ex to completely mod my blaster or sell both and buy a bigger quad????

But, what kinda riding does he do? The 400 is a good size for 14 year-olds and all-around, but if he races TT or something i recomend puttin a 240 on the blaster.

im leaning towards the 400 idea....


he just messes around on the dunes and some some dessert terrain. if i buy it the first thing will be some a-arms and suspension as well as an axle:p and alot of protection stuff (skids, nerfs, bumper, etc etc)

IMO, if your doing all this for your bro... I'd sell the 250ex and put a few bucks into the blaster. Wait until he is 16, then have him upgrade to a 450... It sucks to buy a 400ex, and then wanting to upgrade to a 450....

Besides, in 3 or 4 years, you will be able to get an older 450r for cheap!

I road a blaster from 11-15 years of age. They are a ton of fun with a few good modifications.

A Blaster doesn't even compare to a 400ex :eek2: ! The power of the 400 is way better and controlled. The geometry is 10 times better on the 400. The upkeep is easier on the 400ex (change the oil). No having to mix gas (everyone knows there was that time they were in a hurry mixing their gas and really misjuged the mix.)

240 the blaster: faster than a stock 400ex.

Offset rims: More stability

Upkeep: the blaster's easier. All you do is fill the injection tank. There is no premixing:rolleyes:

If hes anything like me, I came from a blaster. I got the 400ex, and it is a much better quad, but im already hungry for more power... But thats why i got a banshee so i can keep the EX

sell you blaster and you 250 and buy a 400ex. good amout of power and very reliable motor...

I don't mention my banshee in every thread. :confused:

My banshee's a complete basket case right now. No spark, tired engine, no gaskets, bad bushings/bearings, and bought as a project. Believe me, its nothing to rant about:rolleyes:
I never said its better than anything. I just mess around with klutch because we bash each others quad for fun, just messing around. Thats the only time I say my banshee's better, lol.

I was just putting out the point, that if he gets a 400ex now, hes gonna be disapointed in the long run when he wants more power. Sure the 400ex can be built, but not everyone has the money.

Beat the hell out of the blaster, and when he's 15 or so, get him a 450. Or 2-stroke if thats what he prefers.

Anyways i had a 300ex from age 12-15 now i got a 450R i am still 15. Keep the blaster mod it out a bit. Then within the next few years get a 450R.

Or you can sell both by a 400EX slowly mod it out. Then within the next few years you can always go 416, 426, or a 440.

thanks i think im going to follow the 400 ex advice. and yeah i do all of this to my brother so he dosent get all the problems like i had his 250 is the best hahahahah it has a full yoh, hipers, hds, spacer, we were looking at come elkas, filter, jeted perfectly its alot of fun but the problem its we want more than fun!
