Random False Neutural

Last time i went riding, when i would shift from 3rd to 4th, my 04 would hit false neutural maybe once every 10 ten shifts from 3rd to 4th. Is my tranny starting to go out or is this normal?

I find I have to very deliberately shift between 1st and 2nd, or I will hit neutral by mistake. That's the only weird thing about my tranny.

But....if something is happening between 3rd and 4th, that is more than just shifting technique....

are you using the clutch?

sometimes when i shift up without the clutch it gets stuck inbetween the gears for a second

i pull in the clutch about 75% in when i shift

sometimes when im riding my 05 R it will not fully engage into the gear im shifting to ( only sometimes), but i asked my buddy if his 450r did it and he said yah. so its prob just how the tranny is
