Anybody who is running a Duncan PC2000 265PV cylinder wanting to hear your input on setups you are running. What reeds, reed cage, carb, compression. I have a PC cylinder and I am wanting to get it set up right. Duncan tells me not to run anything but the products that came with the motor package. But when I look about on here people are running all kinds of different carbs and reed setups. Any info would be great, I dont want to start buying new carbs and stuff if it wont help. I have the duncan 36mm PJ carb now and wanted to put a new 38 A/S or mikuni TMX on it but duncan says the 36 pj is better for it?????

312R1 what dome are you running in your head. I have around 190psi right now running 50/50 race gas, pump gas. Duncan told me the pc2000 is a straight race gas motor that I needed to change domes to get compression to 215-220psi.

I also have a PC 2000. Check out my signature. Also, where do you guys run your adjuster on the powervalve? I had a guy tell me that on the snowmobiles they usually have them flush with the black cap. Have always ran mine there and haven't messed with it. Dont mean to steal your thread beak7707.

CorvetteZ06 are you running straight race gas? Have you always ran the 38 A/S with your cylinder? Thats the main thing I am thinking about changing is the 36mm PJ. I'm going to mess with the jetting a bit when I get sometime, but I have been leaning towards a new carb.

the only problem I have with my type 6 is that it always feels like I need another gear when Im in the open stuff ,

but in the woods it has great response out of the corners and pulls like a 4poke---no topend though

I figured that, I am running the mid range pipe if feels good through the whole power curve. Are you running straight race gas?

I ran AV last summer but this yr will be strait race fuel ,I think AV is good upto 200 psi after that you should run race fuel ,,,,
do you wanna ruin a 1500 dollar cylinder over a few bucks

yes, i have always run race gas. I tried the 36mm and it ran good, but in my opininion the 38mm airstyker is the best all around carb for a 250 2-stroke. it rips from bottom to top, plus with the powervalve, you dont need the smaller carb for throttle response down low. I called up pro-design to ask them if the domes were the same, but they are not, so you have to get the domes from Duncan.

I've been leaning towards a 38 A/S or a Mikuni TMX. It runs ok but I think the carb is meesed up. The choke is turned so far out to get it to idle, that when you actually pull the choke up it only comes up like 1/4 inch if that. I havent had much time to mess with it lately I need to get on it. Finally got my dream Roll lobo with a duncan PV and only rode it once.
