I would like to purchase a sport atv this spring, Since i ride polaris sleds and they are the best ride on snow! I am thinking the new outlaws with the ktm motors must be a bad ***** sport atv, my dealer will give me a good deal on either a 450mxr or a 525s, he even has the new le 525s with the podium x's on it. I want to know if the reservoir shocks are really well worth it, my riding style is manly trail use it will never see a track probly but I want the most tossable bike that is prefferably a wheelie machine that doesnt mind getting jumped and pounded through whooped trails real hard. I wont ride that irs bs its out of the questiong i want a straight axle wheeler but any insight would be appreaciated, I also saw that from tc racing a moded 450mxr only makes two hp less then a modded 525, so I am thing the mxr is a little smaller and has the better shocks should i just add bigger wheels and tires to the mxr and its a wrap or spend the 400 houndred extra on the 525 le that has the podium x's with the bigger wheels and the extra cc's??? I am confused any insight would be apreaciated

I would get the 525s LE the extra CC and bigger tires make it a better trail quad/wheelie machine. The extra torque is what will get that front up. if you get the 450 you are going to spend close too $400 for the trail tires and you will find out it weighs about the same as the 525s LE.

yea go with the LE 525 s because if your never going to go to the track so you dont need to worry about class restriction, the extra torque is going to be a plus for trails and doing wheelies, and it already comes with pretty decent bigger tires. And if you want something good to wheelie, the mxr isnt a good wheelie quad, my friends think that about my quad too, so its not just me.

so the overall concencous is to go with the le! ii guess thats what i will do then

well you dont have to get the le, if you like the colors the regular ones come in and dont want to pay more money just for the colors and the rezzies up front you could get the reguler 525 s. But its up to you.

how does your 450mxr stack up against other 450's and i dont know if i necessarilly need the 525 i feel more comfortable sitting on the mxr for some reason and honestly i dont like the gold graffix of the le i like the reg red and white better! how much would it cost to add the rezzie shox to the reg 525 s?

what i would personally do is just buy a set of shocks from someone who is selling a set.

im pretty sure you can just send fox your shocks and theyll put the rezzies on them, dont know how much though. I love my mxr, ive beaten every 450 except the ktm, honda, and ds(never raced any of them)but im sure ill beat the honda and ds cause i beat a yfz with slip on exhaust and jetted, and a 08 ltr with baffle out, cherrybomb and air box lid off. I beat a lot of other things too, just dont feel like listing them all. haha. :D

is the 525 that much quicker because i looked on tc racing and, it said that the 450 and the 525 both with pipe and jet kit and modded airboxs make within two hp of eachother. Does the 525 really have that much more torque? for some reason the 450 feels more comfortable to me i dont know why! I am getting ready to make the purchase and i really want the rezzies but dont want the le i am not a fan of the black gold combo i want the tradition red white race graphics. But I want the podium x's what should i do? anybody know if fox will make podiums into x's??? and how much it could cost??? is 6200 a good deal on a outlaw? he wants 400 more for the le? i dont know what to do i hate to buy a 450 and not be able to pull the front end up hard and go across the field in a wheelie, but with 48 hp like tc racing id think it would be an animal? the 525 only makes 50 they say?

a couple of things....neither one should really feel more comfortable because aside from the tires theyre identical. HP really doesnt mean that much because its the added torque that will be the biggest difference between the two. I would just get the 525s and call it a day cause those mx tires arent going to last you very long on the trail and they are expensive to replace.

and theres not enough of a price difference to make me consider the 450......the 05 pred fox shocks are pretty cheap/easy to come by and they are the same as what comes on the 450 anyways if you end up with the regular s

the razr mx's are only 50 bucks a piece, way cheaper the regular razrs. so how are they expensive?

well wear out a couple of set at half the time of razr's and see, and anything is expensive if its not what you need for your application and end up replacing it right away
