axis rear shock

i just bought a set of axis shocks for my 400ex. the rear shock is really bouncy. i don't think it has rebound adj on it. all it has is the comp. dial on the can and pre-load. when i push it down it will pogo back up fast and then bounce a few times before it comes to a rest. i ride mostly woods and don't want it to buck a lot on the trails. anyone know why nad how to help this? thanks

Sounds to me like the shock is blow out.

Yes you need to rebuild your shock.

as in re-charge it and change the fluid?

yes change the fluids, get it re-charged and check all the seals. I would advise you to send it to a shock rebuilder and he will know what needs to be done to fix your shock.
