Im thinking about getting a Used Sportsman 500. So i got a few questions:

Do the sportsman break down a bunch?
Are they good in the mud?
Do they can a good Top Speed?
Does the Transmission "F" up Easy?

Just some basic questions.. i've never real been interested in polaris but i like the one i found for sale. I just want to know if the sportsman 500 would be warth buying?

I've only got about 700 miles on mine, but it has been flawless. The only trouble I've had is with the battery. It seems to go thru those. I've replaced 3 already. Mine does sit alot as I live in town and only plow the driveway with it. The other use it gets is when I take a trip with the guys and it gets rode HARD. It is completely stock down to the tires and I go almost every where my buddies go with theirs and all have big wheel kits and some power adders. I like it in the mud too since the tranny vent is up by the gas tank. It is out of the way from catching water. Hope this helps.

I just won an auction for a 02 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO with 900 miles. I do not usually buy used but I am giving it another shot. I did not pick it up in Jackson, MS. yet. I hope I want be calling it the yellow Banana.
