I have an 86 250r with I believe +3 laeger a arms and +4 axle..I am not sure though.. I have 8inch rear and 10 inch fronts on now but I needed bigger rims and tires for trails so I picked up a set of 450r take off rims and tires that were new but now I am having second thoughts about using them for mostly trail riding and some mx.
What are the pros or cons with using stock rims on a wide setup like mine?
Am I better off just buying aftermarket rims in 9in and 10in and running those for trails and mx?
Heres my quad the way it is now

thanks

with a +3 front end, stock offset rims(~3/2, 10") will make you about 52 inches wide, way too wide for trails and to be ama legal. You also are using 8" rims on the back. Most/all front tires and rims are 10". I would stay with the rear rims you have right now and get 4/1 10" front rims, if you do have a +3 front end, you will be 49" wide.

I wouldnt deal with that guy, his last account got banned. wonder why.

Anyway, i don't see any DOWNSIDE to running those rims/tires unless your trails are too narrow. If you're not worried about that, then go for it.
