Sprocket and Chain Suggestions

I want a good all-round sprocket/chain setup. I a am not necessarily doing any one specific thing. I do a lot of trail/pitt riding. Occasional track riding and drags whenever I get a chance vs my buddies.....nothing serious.

What is the best setup to go with as far as number of teeth on each sprocket?

14/39 with 20" tires. low end and a respectable top end. 14/38 if you are doing more open than tight riding.
