I see it coming, I now have 4 cross country tires mounted on douglas rims, and on order i have 4 MX tires mounted on douglas rims and an axle. I have the airplane "Im feeling a little dizzy" bags ready to go.

I agree, seems like everytime I add something up on paper the list gets bigger and bigger, I feel like im gettin deeper and deeper and theres no way out, the bug has given me a disease I cant get rid of.

04-11-2008, 02:10 PM
lmao,
Now I've already tried to explain this disease to guys before.
it's called--
A.A.D.S.
( Accesory Aquisition Disorder Syndrome )

You are BORN with it.
There's nothing you can do about it.
(Trust me, I've been through the 12 step program,
and the weekly group support meetings)

It is TERMINAL !
There is NO CURE.
It controls everything you do.
The best way to deal with it is to simply accept it,
(The hardest part is getting your Wife to accept it)

Now go find peace in your soul,.....

(and Piece, after Piece, after PIECE, AFTER PIECE, for your Quad)

Actually having my wife"well soon to be" made my A.A.D.S get 10x worst, but she loves what I do and is kinda gettin the disease like me.

04-11-2008, 03:59 PM
So there's no hope? Dang. I've owned the quad a month and I'm already seriously stricken with the disease. Of course, I've always had the disease as everything with wheels I've ever owned has been modified.

In the last month I've purchased the quad (new 2007) and put about $1500 into it so far. I'm sending the shocks off to be revalved/sprung by C&D next week. Custom ordered new Works shocks for my wife's 250ex a couple days ago. Going to put new tires on the rear of hers to help handling. It never stops.

Just put the +2 JD Performance A-arms and tie rods on yesterday. I'm going to go try it out tonight or tomorrow morning.

I feel your pain...

haha, easily 3x the cost of the quad new into mine (perhaps a conservative estimate)....I try to think about it as over the course of the 8 years i've owned it which makes me feel better :p Who am I kidding though? lol we all suffer from the same ailment.

i have a stock 400ex with a slip-on and i beat built 450's every week so if you odnt have the talent dont waste your money

klutch
04-11-2008, 07:22 PM
So what you are saying is you are a far superior rider to the rest of us because we spend money on our ATVs? Well congratulations on beating "built 450s" but maybe this guy spends money on his to make it more comfortable because he just rides for fun...? Dude seriously think about it... Not everyone races.

hungus07trx400
04-12-2008, 11:58 AM
Yeah why would you post something like that? Everyone was talking about how much they put into their quads and having a good time and you write something totally off topic? Some people have Talent AND money so why not have all the fun you can? Don't be bitter. The Pro's all have loads of talent yet look at all the components on their bikes. You should write them a letter and let them know that all of that aftermarket equipment isn't necessary, Im sure the teams would love to save some of that cash.

Sometimes us old dumb farts, like to rely on old dumb sayings, to remind ourselfs of past lessons learned.

At just over 16 years old, you might not have heard some of them.
so in case you haven't heard this one, I'll let you in on one of those old sayings.

"It is better to not say anything, and be thought a fool,...

Don't think that because I choose to go by RaginRedneck that I am not an intelligent person. Assumption is the mother of all foul ups. I'm a fairly smart guy, not without flaw mind you, but I can put together a sentence with less than 14 grammatical errors.

...Boy, oh boy, do I feel like a jackass. I truly hope you didn't take offense, it was a saying obviously not directed at you or your child. I honestly apologize if you did take any sort of offense, because that was not my intent.

Can I ask a probably stupid question? I'm assuming that the quad pictured is yours, but is your son able to ride at all? I know basically what Downs Syndrome is (Trisomy 21, caused by the 21st allele having 3 chromosomes as opposed to 2), but I'm not sure if kids would be able to ride at all in a controlled atmosphere?

Once again, I hope you didn't take offense.

Raging,
Seriously, no offense taken.
I am rather Proud of my boy, and the accomplishments he has made. He has taught me far more than I will ever be able to teach him.
Patience, and tolerence being first and foremost.

To answer your question, no he does not ride my quad,(yet).
but you certainly dont want to leave the key in it and turn your back on him! LOL! he is no dummy, and very well knows when you turn the key, and get a green light,...
just push the button on the left, grab ahold of the throttle, and try to reach the shifter !

We do not leave the keys in the cars even just to open the gate at the driveway. He knows exactally what to do, and he wants to do it REAL bad!!!

Last week, I took him and his little sister to the cycle shop, and bought them the full blown riding gear set up, and they both look like Pro Circut Champions.
I recently picked up a used Meerkat 50 for them both to learn on, and they are pretty good a taking a few laps around the backyard.
I haven't had them out to the desert yet, but we will be going in a few weeks. It should be a blast.

(I just hope they dont out run me,.... I'm not a very talented rider ya know)
;) ;)

RaginRedneck

I know what you mean about leaving keys in anything. I dated a girl in high school who's brother had Downs Syndrome. I let him sit in my old flatfender jeep, but I took the keys out. I didn't even think about the starter button. He held the starter button in, it was in gear, it cranked over and my jeep jumped the curb in McDonald's parking lot and went down in the ditch. First he was scared and then he realized it was pretty fun. So I made him help me lock in the hubs(it didn't need it, but he thought it was awesome) and then we backed it up out of the ditch, he had a smile from ear to ear. :)

Glad to hear that you got your kids riding. My nephew is 4 and has been racing flat track for about 6 months now and loves it! He finally won his first race a couple of weekends ago and got the "BIG trophy" that he has been wanting so badly. I didn't get to make the race because I was sick, but he made my brother let him use the phone so he could call Uncle Kevin and tell him. It was pretty awesome.

so basically bottomline is you guys are immature and got all off topic and mad because i said money dont buy talent i was even saying that to the guy who atarted the thread i was just stating the quote

Nobody ever said that putting money into their quads made them a more "talented" rider. People put money into their quads for a lot of different reasons...gaining "talent" is not one of them. I guess anybody that prefers a better riding and better performing quad should save their money and ride a stock quad since they don't enough "talent" to ride something better

You also need to take a look in the mirror before calling OTHER people on here immature. Read your own post, Mr. my parents have this and my parents have that....

Brauap, I'll try to explain it, so it's not so confusing.
think of it this way...

It's sort of like checking out someone's nice quad,

It's one thing to give them big compliments on it.
They will be honered, and happy to show you all the goodies they have done to it.

But it's something totally different to just jump on it,
fire it up, and taking it for a ride, as if it's your own,
Without asking or being invited.
