I have a pretty much stock 2002 400ex, and want to start doing some mods to it. So far i have a K&N air filter and that is pretty much it except for handle bars and nerf bars. I do mostly trail riding/sand dunes and stuff like that.

I was thinking about a DYNO Jet Kit, K&N Air box Cover Filter, A +6 degree key and Rev Box.

i have had pretty god luck with an AMR cdi and monster coil. it really depends on what your budget is and what kind of mods you want to do.

I just want to do some basic upgrades right now that dont cost to much but will still give me some more power, how much did the rev box and coil cost u?

get rid of that stock exhaust and get at least an aftermarket slip on. an HMF with jets is a little over 200. save you money and save up for a slip on ...

ok thanks i think i am gonna do that, if i have enough money should i just get a full system or is a slip on ok? i dont plan on doing to much engine mods so maybe a slip on will be fine?

just get the slip. you can add the header pipe most of the time down the road if you decide you need it.

If you get the pipe and jet in properly it will be a totally different machine.

also check ebay for parts. if you keep an eye on it and have patience you could find a used full system for the price of a brand new slip on. also check the parts for sale in this site. i also have a amr cdi and coil. i dunno if itd be worth it for a mostly stock engine considering they are a little pricy. id start with the pipe and rejetting first. you can also grind down the header pipe for more exhaust flow. the first inch or so by the head is really thick and can b ground down quite a bit
