my brother has a 02 silverado Z71 (and no it for sure isnt me :D, im stickin with my trusty ford) anyway hes searchin for a good 6 inch lift kit and has been looking on the internet at those skyjacker kits but those seem pretty pricey, can someone suggest a good brand (you know not necessarily top of the line just quality stuff) at a reasonable price?

thanks for any info

Fabtech and BDS are good kits.

unless you dont care if the front trac is widen by inches i would go with fabtech but if that is a problem go with something like pro comp or cst. i have a fabtech on my 02 2500 and (it may just be me) but i hate that fact taht the only way they lift the truck is by makeing the front end almost two inches wider. RCD is also a good lift along with cognito ( would by my number one choice). there are a lot of lifts out there and all have their ups and down. my choice would be spend a little more money and get something like cst or cognito, their lifts have great quality and are great lift kits

Great stuff, but it gets pricey. My buddy is running one of their lifts on his f150.

I'm think of lifting my silverado too. How big do you think I could go and still me able to easily get the quad in and out? I'm thinking a 4-6 inch lift.

i had a 6'' susp and 2'' body lift on my old z with 35'' tires. i didnt really have any trouble gettin my Z in the back. it was a little steep, but wasnt really a problem. as long as the ramps are atleast a decent size.

to the orignal question. my lift was fabtech and i loved it. but thats like top of the line and expensie. i know you sid you couldnt spend that much. but i dont really know of any other lifts. ive seen and heard about a lot of skyjacker lifts being good.

bds and fabtech are about the same product, the engineer for fabtech went off on his own and made bds, thats whats been told to me many of times, so

Here is my 03 Silverado, I installed a 3 inch body lift, two inch blocks in the rear and used ford f-150 torsion keys to lift the torsion bars in the front 2 inches. They are indexed different for more turn on the torsion bars. Total of 5 inches of lift. I did it all for 500 bucks. Installed myself. Fits 315/75r/16 Tires with no rubbing. Had to trim the front bumper plastic was all. I went this route because on top of buying a suspension lift you normally have to buy offset wheels because of the spindle drop in the suspension lifts. Its a clearance thing. That means more money. I've found RCD to be excellent, I have installed them for buddies of mine and one Fab tech. All Chevy's. If its a Money issue I'd go the route I did. Tires, wheels, install fees and the suspension lift can add up to 3 grand or better depending on what you want.
