Yeah just got my 07 450r and ive owned a rm125 and im really disapointed in the power of this atv, its pathetic. Does anyone else feel this way? I want to put a hot cam and silencer on it but not sure about the air box or anything

Umm... you can always take the air box lid off, put an aftermarket filter, and full system exhaust, and the hotcam, remarkable difference from what i have heard.

Personally I think the 450R has a lot of power for a quad especially after u open it up. I have ridden RM 125's and every 450 Quad that is out, well ya the RM is going to be a bit faster then any of the 450's for two reasons, First its a 2-stroke which means it will make twice as many power strokes as a four-stroke which will roughly produce twice as much power and Two its a motorcycle that weighs 191 pounds were as the 450r weighs 350 pounds. If you hate it so much maybe u should sell it.

well the 450r is the most corked up bike from the factory you can buy so pull the airbox, throw on a full system and jet it. Also try an 02 crf cam.

Yes they definitely need uncorked, especially the 06+ 450R's but i cant see myself sayin its pathetic compared to a 125. Ive had Bikes of all sizes 2 stroke and 4 ranging from an xr80 up to a CRF450 and these quads are no slouch compared..........i had a CR125 and it ran decent but it just felt like a mule cause it went from nothing to something in a snap, a typical 2 stroke. These things are designed to pull smooth and hard from idle to wide open

Put an HRC kit onto it before you decide it's too gutless. Maybe a slip on as well.

Thanks i heard that too and i was going to sell it after i rode it, i was cursing the thing about how it doesnt catch fast and it back fires when i give it throttle, my 98 rm125 would flip back wards if you wernt standing but then again it has been heavily modified but i dont want to mess with the engine just yet.. its a brand new bike

Lol back fires when u give it throttle?
Sounds like its having some jetting problems.

If it's not tuned right its not guna have anywhere near it's normal power.

And IMO going from any bike to any quad is going to feel slow.
They are twice the weight.

i dont no how u think its slow im trying to get away from my 2smoke weedwacker and get a 450r

yeah i had that same mind thought trx450rfreak i would have so many problems wit my 2 stroke i felt like kickin in front of a semi so i got myself a four stroker but yes when i want her too scoot it backfires but i think i know why the dealer i got it from have idiots for mechanics, i know, i watched em they have no respect for their merchandise and somehow every machine that has come out of there has had gas and carburater problems

i used to have a 03 YZ125 , and it would outrun a lot of quads. but my ol 450R had a butt load more torque. sounds like you may have other issues. seeing that you are from springboro, may i ask what dealer you bought it from lol

not to start an arguement, but i think he can ride good, because my 03 YZ134 stroker would beat 450's all day long.

I disagree. The LTZ is by far the most corked and choked of the 450's. For $40, you can remove the baffle and plug in a cherry bomb and have a bike that will run hard.
To the guy who wrote this: in your sig it says you love your new 450, but here your saying you hate it. I have never herd of a jetting problem on a stock bike... kinda peculiar.

Uhm? LTZ? Thats a 400. I am sure you meant LTR. Also most stock bikes from dealers the jetting isn't all that great. Countless times jetting is the first thing people mess with.
