so havent really kep up on 450r like i should have but now im gonna buy a used 450r and was curious if anything was weird like which year did they get electric start and any other diffrences would be helpful i see new headlights in 06 thanks

06+ Different Swing arm, rear shock, linkage, plastics, headlight, Electric start, umm thats all i can think of right now...

ah you mist one important part the MOTOR.
different stroke different bore different head, different mounting angle no oil cooler different radiator , ect.

Well i know there was difference but I am 15 and, have no experience with any 06+ 450r... Mine is an 04 so I don't know much about the 06+ motors didn't want to mislead him lol.

so are you sayin the 06s have more horsepower or is there no real diffrence

they have a little more power from a higher compression and different carb (and some other small things) but the 04/05's turn a lot better

all preference. the 04-05 has a longer stroke usually meaning higher torque. the 06-08 has a bigger bore and revs alot faster. as well the entire engine flows more air, which don't get me wrong is NOT ALWAYS better. but for most the 06 + seems to be better.

'06 has the CRF engine, and the '04 only shares the airbox and the clutch cover, i think
i own a '04 model but i would like to own a '06 kick star model
