View Full Version : HELP ASAP!!! 400ex problem

2005 400ex......i replaced my clutch and put everything back the way it came off. Now im putting my clutch cover back on and the clutch rod w/ the spring goes so far and then the rod wont turn and the cover wont go all the way on? honda rep. said to check my basket but everything is tight and in order. I dont know what im doing wrong? Its killing me and i have a guy wanting to buy it cash tomorrow!!!! I need to know what to do to get the cover onto the motor and back running!

Have you tried to push the cover and turn the rod at the same time?

tried already......lol once the case goes all the way on the rod stoppes?

Did you try pulling the lifter arm up once?

tried to pull it up and then turn it but it wont go on right? im stumped. didnt lose any parts and have no idea what happned! lol taking it in the morning to Honda....

Last question, you do have a Clymer manual right? It just doesnt seem like something is meshing right? Can you by chance take any pics?

FIXED! only prob was that everytime i put the case on i kept hitting the clutch reset pin in.....so thats what was catching! got it on and SOLD! Bought a 450r today!

Glad you got it fixed and congrats on the 450r have fun with that.
I'll be sure to remember this when its time to put my cover back on.
