I have a 2004 Honda TRX450r in nearly showroom condition. It has about 30-35 engine hours on it at most. This bike has never seen a track, and has only been trail ridden at St. Joe's state park in MO. All potential issues with this production year have been dealt with. The frame has weak points in certain areas, but the frame was gusseted with the combination of a BARE performance gusset kit and a LSR gusset kit to insure that there were no possibilities for breakage in the future. The frame and a-arms were then painted with extremely durable rust-preventative paint that is far stronger than any powdercoat I’ve ever seen. In 2004 and 2005, Honda released a service bulletin stating that they had re-engineered the crankshaft assembly to increase engine longevity. Since this ATV is a 2004, the crank was replaced with the updated crank. (I have dated receipts and the old crank for proof.) Also, the 450r did (and still does) come with a useless plastic rear skid plate, but a PRM .190” skid plate was installed to protect important goods such as the chain, the sprocket, and brake rotor. I also have the HRC style airbox lid on the ATV, with a Lexan mud guard and the HRC intake snorkel. I’m running a Twin-Air air filter. The engine oil was changed every ride. It went in the same color as it came out, no exceptions. The transmission side oil was changed every other ride, no exceptions. Only genuine Honda ATV/Motorcycle oil was used. The air filter was cleaned every ride also. A jar of touch-up paint, the stock air filter, one spare front and one spare rear tire, and the stock intake snorkel will also come with the ATV.
