welding a 250r frame

does anyone know if a stock 87 frame is chromoly? the reason i ask is i have a cracked motor mount and im pretty sure chromoly should be tig welded, correct?

Stock frames are not made of chromoly.

yup migs are fine welded my 89 up perfectly fine with a mig

I was wondering the same thing...it appears I have to replace a top motor mount bracket; I'll probably torch weld it or buzz it clean with a mig.

I would mig the damn thing! If you have a tig and are good with it then tig it!

if at all possible i'd TIG weld it. sure the MIG will be fine but the tig does a much better job of it. :cool:
