Recently just rebuilt engine, Wiseco 12:1 440 kit, hot cams stage 2, jetted, k&n airfilter, aftermarket pipe, started it up first time and it ran nice for about 20-30min and then turned it off b/c we were still waiting on swingarm bearings so couldnt ride it but after the bearings came in and had quad back together, i had a hard time starting it, eventually did and took it for a ride but it kept over revving at half throttle and was only able to get it to 3rd gear due to this, i cant figure out why it is over revs at half throttle and anything past that the quad just dies.

has anyone else had this problem before or know why this is happening and how to fix it, ive been looking at other posts and im thinkin of a few possibilities but would like to know from other people also, thanks

ya choke was first thing i checked but it wasnt on, and as i was tryin to start it the second time it wouldnt idle so i turned it up a bit, but i was thinking maybe timing was off

TDC with the cam lobes aiming down, is what it said in the manual is this incorrect?

make sure there are no air leaks from the carb to manifold. It also sounds like you are way lean as well,go up on the pilot if turning out your fuel screw dosent help.Make sure your valves are properlyadjusted as well, once warmed up it appears they may have tightened up on you making it hard to restart;)
