so im rebuilding my top end on my 04 400 ex, i took off the cam cover then took off the first section of the top end and dropped a waser down into the bottom of the case, so i took off the case cover but still cant find the fu***** i tipped the quad all the way over to still cant find it, what do i do now cant run it like that right if it gets in the gears it over. im so pissed

That does suck....the only thing that i can think of, and I hope will work for you is a magnetic wand of some type you could stick down there and hope you find it...

ya i tried a magnetic wand but nothing it has to be wedged somewhere plus everything seems to be magnetic and the wand just sticks to everything

try a shop vac, or air compressor...... not sue bout the ir compressor, try shop vac tho

Well you definately can't run it like that. You probably wouldn't even have time to get it ito gear before it locked up.

You're going to have to split the cases. If I were you I'd take the opportunity to upgrade whatever I could because 400EX's are so reliable it may be the last time you're in there. :D
