Advance Timing

The question is when do you advance? Is it more for drag racing or something else? I hear that some do and some say not to mess with it. Will H. from 1Dir Racing says I should be running 3-4 degrees advance. Will it bring a new high to the topend? What do you think.

by advancing your timing is more fore bottom end and better throttle response but if you run a lot of top end by advancing your timing will hurt your top end and will make your motor run much hotter.
