Can someone give me a general area where my jetting should be

05' YFZ
Yosh pipe & KN filter w/ outerwear, Air box lid ON

I live near chicago illinois

I think its running a bit lean, havent pulled it yet to see what the jets are.

It pops on decell and runs like a champ so im pretty sure lean

170-180 main
45-48 pilot
ncvq needle on the 3rd or 4th
loose the cover and see how it runs

If you mean lose the cover with his current condition, that will make it leaner.

With your mods and lid on I would say:
175 main
45 pilot
3rd clip ncvq needle
2.5 turns out on the screw

Start a tad rich and work your way down.

Id like to run lid off for performance purposes but often times I find myself in places like water & mud where it's probably better to have on.

I have a K&N with outerwears, what do you think about running it without a lid in those conditions?

If it is really nasty conditions, then I would say to keep the lid on, but if it is just a little mud or water here and there then you should be find with your lid off and outerwears.

That is a general idea of where you should be at......jetting for each quad will be different, but this will get you close. The fine tuning is up to you. Read up on the jetting articles on this site and you should be able to get it tuned correctly. Let us know if you have any more questions.
