Well I needed a new skid plate for my sprocket that would save me ground clearance and not be so heavy, so I did some research and saw some good reviews on the LSR racing sprocket guard. As of now I really like it and think it is a great accessory for the 450R for only 50 bucks!. It is also a easy install and even easy enough for a 15 year old to be able to install by himself in 20 minutes. So here are some step by step pics of me putting this thing on.

Well Damian, Im saving so well see lol.

And yeah this thing is awesome, and
leaves you with about the same gc as it would without a skid.

Don't get me wrong, but I just don't get it.

I guess the first question is what type of riding do you do? I still see objects hitting the sprocket itself, and what about the rotor?

We have a nice setup for the LSR sprocket guard. We machine a second one to fit on the inside of the sprocket. This gives you twice the coverage without collecting mud and debris like other dual sprocket guards.

Looks great, I would have used some red loctite though cause it looks like the locking tab things in the nots are not fully seated into the threads.

Colby do you have the dual lonestar setup on your quad I might want to see that at Montezuma...

We have the dual setup on Dusty's race bike along with the new Glan innovations rear chain guide that was design for us for this setup.

Ive had one on my 450r for a few years now. Definatly a wise investement and way better than a swingarm skid plate.

yea the lonestar setup is the way to go. I love watching people get hung up on rutted out parts of the track and i just glide right over them. Its hilarious sometimes. If for some reason i need to get a new skid plate, I will hands down be picking the lonestar setup again.

The KTM 450 comes stock with this setup. Although it has a rotor on each side of the sprocket instead of just on one side. Now just to make it function as the brake rotor and you'd be set.

I know the single side will fit as for the dual side I have not tried it on a 400ex
