There is no best quad just what suits you. We are very lucky to have 7-8 awesome quads from different manf. Just pick the one you like and if your friends have them ride there quads and see how you like them.

i know what you mean, but if you had to pick one the was low maintenence and trail and hill ready.... I have just heard that the 450's are more for racing and not trail bikes and come with alot of baggage... valve adjustments, jetting, etc.

your gonna have that with every bike. am i the only one who is getting tired of seeing all these quad vs. quad threads? these kind of threads are useless. in the end they end up the same which is with an argument.

get the kfx450 its the nothing else will do!! j/k, motorider put it best all quads have pros and cons, its up to the individual if they want efi or alum. or irs, something big or small, what look suits your taste, any of that stuff anyway sometimes looking is half the fun if you have nice dealers that let you test ride stuff, just also compare selection today to what it was 3yrs ago, massive difference so enjoy.

Well i went and test rode a 08 raptor gytr and that things hauls *** over my 400ex for sure!! I rode the honda and ltr and it for some reason felt like a mini quad like the handle bars were hitting my knees when i turned and stuff but god damn they have power... i am a little bit of a bigger dude, i am 6'3" and 280 lbs... So i dunno, i think i might go back this saturday and make my final decision... The raptor seems best set up for my build though so we will see... They are giving me a price of 6700.00 for the 08 GYTR SE that seems pretty good for it i dunno though what do you think and also they said the maintenence on them is cake compared to the others.

6'3" and 280 your a big dude, I think the 700 rappy would be the perfect quad for what you want to do

great combo of performance, looks, suspension, and comfort

it has reverse and that 700 efi is a torque monster....................

it will climb any hill you can keep the tires on

if you where 5'8" and 150lbs I would suggest the 400ex

cannondale all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For trails the best has always been the 250r/400ex geometry. For hill climbs Banshees seem to get up a lot of things but for more of a slower climb or some technical climb stay away from 2 strokes. The power band kicking in and tires spinning while climbing isnt such a good thing.

I love my 400ex, there is no doubt about it... but when i was at my local area riding this past weekend and saw some 450s and a raptor 700 climbing this one hill like it was cake i kind of got real jealous...also when they went flying by me, it was kind of crappy feeling.... so i want some more power in between my legs to hopefully get that itch for more power and speed under control

P.S. i also kind of look like an OGRE on my 400.... 6'3" 280lbs lol

I agree with 450rjam.

The 700r is stylish, powerful, and has good suspension.

They are one of the best trail quads.

ha ha some of you guys reply to the title and not the topic..........

he is not asking for the best quad out there, he is asking which one would best suit him

a tecate ? cannondale ?

he wants a trail quad, with reverse, and low maintenance for a larger person....................................

they may be great quads but the tecate and cannondale are far from fitting the bill at hand.

ha....just thought I'd throw that out there though..

Personally, if I can stay brand loyal....I'd say look at an Outlaw with the KTM engine in it. If you don't like that...maybe look at a used DS 650.....or the raptors are okay too
