This may sound stupid and most people probably don't do this but i used a little 2 stroke oil in my first tank of gas and i always run GN4 20w-50.

just dont use a synthetic oil since it will prevent the purpose of breaking it in...

truly theres not many ways to tell..is it smoking? does it feel powerless? check comp.

those could possibly tell u..only other thing is wait for the rod to start knockin if the bearin was to tight/loose etc..and ull hear that..

not to many other ways that i know of to "know" if it was built right..overall time will tell

well when i got mine i ran gn4 10-40 and in winter i use 20-50.. if that helps any.. it ran fine.. when it was stock.. and i never power shifted, always used clutch.. i thought it might help break it in the right way.. idk if it does anything though, like helps it break in or anythin

I use 10w40 honda gn4 oil for breaking it in. Once its completely broke in I switch over the the klotz mx4 10w40. It is fully synthetic and has worked very well.

I run GN4 10w-40 in Spring/Fall and 20w-50 in the summer. Have yet to run sythetic, will probably try it this summer.

I use Valvoline ATV Oil 10W40 It Works great and I can find it at Autozone.

I get my oil from Advanced Auto Valvoline 10w-40 4 stroke motorcycle oil. Its pretty cheap, its easy to find, and it works good. After your motor is broken in I would highly suggest synthetic. I havent ran synthetic in about 6 months because its not easy to find for 4 stroke motorcycle/atv. Either that or when i do find it, its pretty darn expensive. I think this oil change I will be doing tomorrow will be the last 1 on regular oil. After this i'm going back to synthetic.

During the riding season I like to use full synthetic Shell Rotella-t 5w40. It is wet-clutch safe and about $13 for a gallon at walmart. This is of course after you have broken the motor in using any wet-clutch safe conventional oil...the GN4 would be ideal for break-in.

I still have a bunch of stashed-away quarts of the magic full syn Mobil 1 15w50 red cap that I used to run. I may finish them off this summer when it gets really hot.

ok 400ex riders you should use something to handle the heat the 400ex make you should use 20-50 Kendal oil mix it 50/50 with Lucas heavy duty oil additive only for summer runing
