Does anyone know if a standard travel aftermarket 400ex rear shock will bolt up to a 450r?

Why is this? I just bought a 05 450r and the rear shock is as hard as a rock (and I am a big boy). I looked and the preload ring is all the way to the top (soft). I also have a 400ex and the rear shock worked great for me. I was considering switching them. Would this not work?

i no a 450 shock will buolt up to a 400 so it is likely that e00 shock will bolt up to the 450.

The 400ex rear shock is longer than the 450r but it will bolt up.

How would that effect the shock travel, ride a little stiffer? I guess I could just bolt it up and try it, but I was hoping someone else might have already done so to give me some feedback...

I wouldnt normally be worried about it but for mx I was thinking my dual rate axis would ride alot smoother than the stock 450r shock. Plus save me alot of money until I could afford to go long travel.

The ride height wont be correct

Its valved for a 400ex's weight

the 400ex swing arm is completely different

the 400ex linkage is completely different

maybe if you sent it out to get it reworked it would work better i just don't see how it would be interchangable unless your not really working the shock

but give it a shot, i could be wrong
