I am looking to buy new tires for my 02. I will be doing mostly woods riding with some mud and hills. I've got some nasty side hills on the trail I'm making now so I will probably need something with some side bite. I'm thinking about 22" Razors 2's for the front and 20" ITP mudlites for the rear.

What would you recommend? I'm new to the sport but have years of 4x4 trairiding under my belt. What tires do you run and how do you like them?

Thanks guys, great site

20" razr 2's are actually like 22" tires and will give you plenty of bite in the rear. I had a set and they gave me "too much" bite so i had to take em off. However they will last forever , will not pop/puncture and are all around good tires. there are hundreds of tire threads that will help you find just what u need.

o and since you are not racing and are doing seious off roading (mud/trails) isuggest switching from k&N to a Foam

i run razrs all around 20s on the back and 22s on the front and i must say its some of the best tires ive road for trails and stuff they grip insanely good and are very durable but thats just my opinion

Razr 2 front and Razr Rear has to be by far the best tire combo. Great tires. Traction when you want it or need it, very predictable sliding, great wear, make handling so much different its a great upgrade.

i ride in a lot of thicker mud, rocks, and gravel. i had holeshot style tires on the back for the first 2 years i had the bike, then went to mud sharks. had the mud sharks ever since, and love them. great traction, plenty of bite. if your looking at mudlites, check of the gbc mud sharks as well.

Sideways; do you have any pics of your bike with your tire combo? Also, how do the Mudsharks do on hardpack trails?

Thanks for all the input guys, it's giving me more options to look into.

Here's a pic of the tires I have now. It has Douglas wheels on the rear.

The way I posted mine was...
1/ Open a photobucket account (its free).
2/ On photobucket go to upload and select the pictures u want to save from your pc to photobkt
3/ Once uploaded click on the "direct link" button next to your photobkt picture you want to post, It will say "copied".
4/ Type your reply on here and where you want to insert your pic click on the "IMG" tab
5/ A small window will open above your reply. Right click in the entry box and select "paste". This will paste your pics "http//" address from photobkt. Then Click "OK"
6/ Continue your reply and where you want another pic do the same thing (It helps to have photobucket opened in another window so you can switch back and forth from photobkt/post reply)

Hope this helps
It might take ya a few tries, but if my computer illeterate ***** can do it anyone can!

heres a pic a little older, but suits the purpose. i had just put on the rear tires and rims. mudsharks rear, cant remember what the fronts were. dont get those fronts if you ride a lot of trails. the mudsharks hook up just fine on hardpack. of course you can break them loose if you want, but they get great traction when you dont.

Well, I am speaking from extreme experience here. I run Swamp Witch's (22'') and as I was riding today, I have seen tires of all sorts... ITP, Maxxis, Kenda, Stock, ect. They all got stuck at one point. No joke! But I passed them by when the going got tough, or thick. and the best part is, as I was passing them, I got to roost the too, the Swamp Witch's thow some serious chunks of mud! I never got suck, where people almost bet me money I would and their 4x4 would have to pull me out. Never got stuck once. And the size and great clearence, but not too big. Also they look awsome. And finally, there cheep! You can get 1 rear tire for 55 bucks! Thats 2 for 110 dollars. And if you ride mud, I know people say good things about the Razr's II rears, but they get all clogged up. They look cool, but I wouldn't get them, or spend that much money on them. But it depends too, do you ride dirt, little mud, then I would get the Maxxis Razr's 6 ply. If you ride 4X4 stuff, the Swamp Witch's.

Also, I was very upset with the tire manufactures of what I had seen today. I had seen:

ITP GNCC's----STUCK
ITP Holeshot-----STUCK
Maxxis Razr-----STUCK
Maxxis Razr II-----STUCK
Stock-----STUCK
Shreders-----STUCK

I couldn't believe it, and there wasn't THAT much mud, maybe about a foot of nasty clay mud, sometimes deeper. But hey, I didn't get stuck. :ermm:

See the second pic, how clogged up the tread it? It still have amazing traction, where I can popa wheelie, or even climb this hill!
