when i hit 4th and 5th it feels like i have no pull with the 22's i havent raced him with the biger tires yet

is your jetting correct?

with 22" tires, id drop a tooth on the front sprocket also.

its like all i can do is get it to top 4th gear out there is no need to go to fifth it will not pull

i think what pipeless is asking is does it seem like the motor is revving more than the acceleration of the bike. if the motor still sounds like it is revving ok in the high gears but the quad doesnt pull hard the clutch could b slipping.

no it doesnt seem like the clutches are slipping...

i checked on here the speed of stock ex's and saw 65-8 mph and there is no way im hitting that.

maybe its time for a rebuild? i cant even get it to max fifth gear out

Must be time to rebuild, I not sure on top end but next to a friends grizzly I was doing 57mhp @ 2/3 throtle in 4th gear. time for you to punch it out to a 440!!!!:D

i would suggest going to a 11:1 406 or 416 before going straight to a 440. that way, you won't need to resleeve on your next rebuild.

Check the valve lash..May be to tight if so it will let the compression out of the exhaust or intake valve..Im in asheboro NC and if you need my help let me no...Warrior will be a joke with just a few tricks...:D

I have a list of the crappiest quads IMO made and the Warrior I think could make that list lol. Something is wrong with yours for a Warrior to beat you. Either that or its the rider.

Dont laugh at warriors, remember they used to get pumped up pretty good before the 400ex came out, thats all there was,fst had a few tricks for them 2 valvers, dont sleep on a warrior. You may just get your lunch taken;) A 400ex get its roots from a 82 design motor so its not actually "high tech"

idk about that. slow....yes. but very reliable. for a safe trail quad or beginner sport quad the warrior is perfect.

What's the jetting at right now?

Rich jetting will kill top end.

ya i had a warrior back in 92' they are fun and reliable. stock compression is 10.25 a 35 MM carb. the engine was not decammed like the ex either plus a 6 speed trans..... it was a blast. i raced a blaster with a pipe and beat it. i also race a kid on a cr80 and it was neck and neck.

A stock motor should pull out 5th without an issue, even with bigger tires. Gearing isnt your issue, its an engine problem.

Like others said, do a comp. test. If thats good, then move to the cam/valves, then the carb, etc.

Warriors are one of the best quads ever made. I have 2. There not fast, but they run forever.

Man, did you resolve this? You should not be beaten by a warrior. I got a friend that has a warrior, so now I gotta race him.

ouch, well i think your tires might be a little big.. i'd stay with 20s but i dont think that why your losing.. check your compression..
