Im sure this seems naive but I bored my cylinder .040. What size is my
engine now?

What is the bore size on a 440 or 416?

Were you drag racing when you blew the head gasket?

Here is the measurements on bore vs. displacement:
Stock 397cc (85mm)
+1mm 406cc (86mm)
+2mm 415cc (87mm)
+3mm 426cc (88mm)
+3.5mm 430cc (88.5mm)
+4mm 435cc (89mm)

Hope this helps!!!!

And one inch = 25.4mm. So .040" x 25.4 = 1mm oversized.

nope the whole engine in that bike was a defect and honda wouldnt accept it. it blew the head gasket 3 times and each time 2nd gear was destroyed too! so the third time we cleaned the engine up and traded it in for a new 2004 EX in 2005 without fixing it.
