Yeah, work on the CAPS lock. I have always ran my R's at 32:1 some people run 40:1. Just use good oil, I run Maxima 927 and have always had good luck. Dont go cheap with the 2 stroke oil not worth it in the long run. Get some pics of this beast, always good to see a stock R. Congrats on the new ride.

I run mine at 32:1 with Maxima oil. Amsoil Dominator is another good oil to run also

Well the first question mark kinda threw me, didn't realize you may be asking something, but the next 47 really drove it home.

I run 32:1 with whatever the hell i have on hand.

My R's a War Pony.

I run around 36:1...approximately 4.5 gallons to 16 ounces of oil...I have ran both maxima and klotz and prefer the klotz R50 much more....they are both good oils though just my preference

Whatever you use, look at the bottle for a recommendation. It's not as scary as it might seem. I've had really good luck with synthetic oil. I run Amsoil Dominator for high compression motors and Interceptor for stockish motors (like yorus). Synthetics leave a lot less carbon behind when time to do a top end than traditional fossil oil and seems to do a great job protecting against scuffing.

i run motal (the best 2-stroke oil iv ever an) its 110% better then anything iv ever ran o an 4oz a gal. a lil onder if it smokes a lil that would be 32:1 lol but run (motal) my bike dont leak it dont smoke an i can use the same plug for 6 months of riding 5 hours a day an it smells really good lol:)

i was looking on the gas tank, it says run 20:1, is that just a saftey mix? i still havent bought any oil, looking at bel-ray, maxima. i dont want to mix some 32:1, and run it lean. it does smoke pretty good at 20:1?

32:1 is safe.

My bike used to foul plugs like crazy there so I did 40:1 on Klotz synthetic.

Listen to the fellas here

32:1 for non or semi-synthethic

40:1 for fully synthethic

Welcome to the 250R family:macho

The reason it says 20:1 is for safety and such, but remember back then Oil was not as 'advanced' as it is today, back then 32:1 was the 'performance' kinda mix. But now people are going all the way up to 50:1 sometimes. Oil is much more advanced today than it was then, you can mix it at higher ratios and be safe.

I'd experiment between 32:1 and 40:1. Don't be afraid to experiment on different oils and such too, to find the best combination.

I've heard of Banshees mixing some really exotic oil at 100:1 before. :macho: I don't imagine it lasts long, it's probably drag bikes only.

I usually run redline synthetic at 32-1. It's 38 a gallon, smells good, and I haven't burned up a top end since switching to it. Also, I use blendzall(castor bean oil) for break in, and the jetting stays about the same between the redline and blendzall.

Any interest in selling your red plastic? I have a ton of R parts I could trade or I'd be interested in buying it out right.

nice find, that R looks to be in pretty good shape (aside from the fender) are those the stock front tires???

I run Belray MC:1 at 50:1 in all mine for the past 10-15 years, except the 540r which gets maxima 927 at 32:1. which ever oil you choose, they are usually sold in the amount to mix with 5 gallons to give the manufacturer's recommended ratio.

That's where a nice 250R belongs....in the house!!! 927 @ 32:1 is what I run in my R. No issues here. Take good care of her. Show her some respect, and put some rear fenders on her. :D

i know you didnt do it, but i have got to say those fenders look disgusting. i would cut the whole fender off before doing that! im glad to hear your replacing them.

i run castor 927 at 37:1 but i plan on switching to redline at 40:1 based on what ive been reading on some other threads here.
