I've seen a couple of pics here on the forum, where people have oil temp dipsticks.

I've looked on ebay for them, but can only find them for Harleys.
The one I did see for a 400ex was digital/electronic, and I dont really like it.

I would like to find one with the old type manual/dial type gauge.
where do you find the dial types, and how much do they go for???

any pics???? links????

thanks, Ron

Here's the link. http://www.xrsonly.com/ The site is down until April 3rd for changing of servers evidently. The link to the temp dip stick no longer works.

I'm going to be ordering one of those also since it gets over 100 degrees here regularly in the summer.

XR's Only has them for $39.95. The Dipstick has a paint line on the stem to indicate the oil full mark. It comes in either red or silver and the temp gauge is adjustable to ensure it is facing upwards when threaded on.

Here's a picture of one installed on my quad. They are made specifically for the 400EX. They also make them for other quads and motorcycles.

That's exactally what I was talkin' 'bout.
thanks guys,
I'll be ordering mine as soon as their site comes up.

(maybe I should go RIDE my quad a little, rather than just doing the whole A.A.D.S. thing???)

Oh yeah. It gets hot here. From around the first week of July until the end of August it's 95-105 a good part of the time. I think the hottest day last summer was around 112.

It really depends on what type of riding I'm doing and the outside temperature. Typically it averages 175-225. It can get up to 275 on warm days. Anything over 300 is a reason to concern.
