450r fuel line

Does it make a difference whether you use the 450 fuel line when you install a 450r carb on a 400 ??

you need to use the 450 fuel hose because the inlet to the carb is about twice the diameter of a 400ex's carb.

it can be done without the 450r line but it is much easier to get it. as pipeless said the inlet for the 450 carb is like 1/2" and the line is like 1/4". i heated and stretched my fuel line with a 1/2" bolt about 5 times then finally got it to go on with some seal glide and clamped it on. i wouldnt recommend going through all the trouble tho. i had just got my carb and wanted to get it on right then and didnt want to wait for a fuel line.

What about the petcock ? is the 400ex and 450r petcock the same size ?

the 450 petcock is just a little bit bigger, so the hose is a little loose. i solved this pretty easily by just putting two radiator clamps on that end.
