i just got done building a 416ex, 11:1 comp, hmf slip on, jetted, k&n power lid and filter, i can trade it in on a 07 outlaw 500 irs jetted and hmf slip on my question is is it worth it how much more power will the 500 ktm motor make compared to the 416 i love my ex but in wv i get stuck with no ground clearance with the outlaw i will have no problems but if the power ant much more i'll keep the ex so if any one knows or has raced an outlaw please let me no

There are many more factors in this one than power. The Outlaw will have the edge on power but it's way heavier than the EX. I can loft the 400 over stuff that would get most 4x4 quads stuck, and unless you want to spend more time fixing your quad than riding it, stay with your Honda. ;)

I've had two separate dealers tell me to stay away from the 500 KTM powerplant. I don't know why but they all cringe when you ask about reliability.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I beleive the 500 Outlaw has the Predator engine, which is not a KTM. However the Outlaw 525 does have the KTM engine.

I could definatly understand it being a bit unreliable since its a full race bred engine. Our polaris/kawasaki shop likes to rebuild forks and not put oil back in them, therefore we get a bunch of Polaris and Kawies to work on at Yamaha-Honda, so our Polaris dealer wouldn't know what they were talking about if they had just rebuilt one haha.
