I was just wondering if anyone had any pics of a 2007 hrc airbox lid so maybe i could modify one for my airbox?

there is no 07 hrc airbox lid...the 07 hrc kit tells you to run without a lid

so what is the reason for this? everytime i ride i get alot of water and stuff in my airbox so i thought one might help keep some of it out.

Ya like speedyquad said, the 06+ bikes don't have an HRC style lid. The lid just gets removed.

You could run an outwear cover on the filter or airbox .

OK... So i just bought an 07 450ER with the HRC kit but the airbox lid is on it. Does this mean it should be off???

yes, the lid should be removed

instructions are not very clear on this, it only says to remove clips
that hold the lid on and then it never says to re-install lid.

I had the dealership install my hrc kit before I took my R home
and they left the lid on also

lose the lid and hang on (she is going to come ALIVE)

dave400ex thats a freaking sweet set of plastics (very clean)

The dealer installed this kit as well and I guess they put it back on. Will it need any jetting after taking the lid off or will the HRC jetting be right? Conversly is it harming it with the lid on?

x2 on the plastics

its jetted for no lid, its killing performance but other than maybe a foul plug its not going to damage your motor

save the lid so when you wash it you can cover the air box

So if I bought one of the lids that is basically just a filter I would be good with the jetting I already have? Correct? I would just feel better with one of those than running without a lid.

If your's is currently jetted for the lid on, you will need to jet it. The EHS setup flows enough more over stock it will need some adjustments, nothing major though.

07black400ex had a dealer install hrc kit but they forgot leave the air box lid off

he should have the hrc jetting and needle

the esr style lid shouldnt restrict enough flow to need rejetting

(good idea to ask for the stock parts they replaced so you know they did the work, and you can sale the stock parts for a little $)

every time I get something fixed I always ask for the old parts even if they are bad

OK... This is complicated but here goes. I had an 07 400EX and wanted a 450r. I stopped by the dealer one day just looking and they had a great deal on an 07 450er. I called my boy who has one and he said he knew the guy who traded it in and the guy had barely ridden it. It has the HRC kit that was installed by the dealer but the lid is still on it. I have know idea if it was jetted for having the lid off. I assume since it has the HRC jetting in it for the kit it will be fine from what you guys are saying. Evidently the dude was running it with the lid on or the dealer left it on and he never took it off. I dunno, I just don't wanna jack anything up by taking it off if it's not supposed to be off. Sorry for the lengthy and frequent posts but I'm new to the 450r and needed some info from people who know. Thanks!!!

You can do this as well if you can find a HRC lid.

If not I have a spare EHS lid I will sell you. I don't need two of them.
