this summer im doing the JLO supercross MX series. they have their races on fairgrounds so the tracks are real small. i raced my friend's 450R on one last year and you never get to 4th gear at all... usually. i still have the stock tires and axle/A-Arms on my YFZ. power wise all i have done is the cam mod, drilled out stock exhaust, open air box, 162m jet, and a 48p jet, so far thats it. i weigh about 185lbs or so. i was wondering what the best gearing for these type of tracks and my setup is? plus if anybody has any other ideas/suggestions glad to hear them:) i just bought a Leatt Brace so thats taken care of. thanks matt

For really tight MX tracks you can go to a 13 tooth sprocket with 18" tires. You'll constantly be shifting and use 5th gear quite a bit. I prefer to run stock gearing with 18" tires on a moderate/tight MX track. 15 tooth with 18" tires will get you back to stock gearing with 20" tires.
