it's a relocation bracket that makes it so that you can use longer shocks (preferably 400ex/250r) in the front. it bolts to your old shock mounts and has mounts that are about an inch and a half to two inches higher than the old ones

Is that a one off build? It's a good looking piece.
Who makes a good, strong set of these? I am thinking of 400EX a arms and 400ex or 450r shocks. Any suggestions?
My front shocks are played and need to be replaced, so,,,,,,,,

jb racing makes the one up there. they also have a newer version that's pretty much the same thing, but doesn't have the bracket thingers on the top of them.

unfortunately those two are like 120 i think. however, you can get ones from diamond j customs (those guys that make the stupid a-arm extenders on ebay) you can get there's usually for under 100 on ebay because they start out pretty low and have no reserve. or you can buy them straight off their site for 100. just google diamond j customs. should be the first link

and johnt, i'd suggest sticking with 400ex shocks rather than the 450r ones. 450r shocks are longer than 400ex shocks and would probably make your 300ex sit pretty high up.

400EX shocks it s.
I have found a set of 400EX a arms complete with hubs and brake disks intact. This would make the job simpler. Will my 300EX calipers work? Or would I have to go with 400EX calipers?

do i need to change a arms to put 400ex or 450r shocks on my 300ex???

yeah. you'll need either 250r or 400ex a-arms. the shock mounts sit out a little farther than the 300ex's and are about a 3/4 of an inch wider on each side equalling to about an inch and half or so wider front end.

Or would I have to go with 400EX calipers? the 400ex hubs, calipers, discs, are a bolt on, because they are the same parts as the 300ex the difference is the spindles are different. to use a longer shock you will need a relocator bracket,to bring your upper shock mount up and out. KOQ racing makes a nice one, for about 85.00. Call Tom at 616-363-1215 he can fix you up.

I can tell you because I JUST finished this mod that you will want to use the 300ex spindles or it just won't turn enough. If I had the chance to do it again I would have sold the 300 and bought a 400 and lowered it to match the height of the 300.

I too used the JB bracket and it is nice but expensive. If you are going to use the 400 shocks...not enough of an upgrade.

ANY questions just ask...not a fun mod.

from what you've experienced, what caused it to not turn as much? i've heard that using the 400 spindles corrects the "mismatched" geometry, even though my runs just fine. the 300 in the pictures up there is also using 400 spindles.

also, i've got my eye on a 450r front setup at the moment. if i end up getting it, i'll get back to you guys with how well it works.

yes. they're same arms, except that i don't think the upper ball joints on the stock 400 arms come off? they do for sure on the 250's.
