building gokart honda fourtrax motor

i have a gokart with a nonrunning engine in it, i want to put a 89 honda fourtrax 200 motor in it, anyone done anything like this that could give me some pointers? main problem is having the footshift where i could shift with my hand

Sounds like a cool project. My brother and I have an extra 400ex motor that runs perfect laying around in the garage. We also have an EZ go golf cart that we busted up and the motor and batteries are shot from jumping it and flipping it so many times haha. So we have all our plans for the 400ex motor to go into it. We are making a suicide shifter and all of that. In a gokart though for the shifter I think you need a hand shifter or something rigged up so you can shift. Wish ya luck man

that sounds cool, i got a EZ go cart too, but the motor will never run right, and i got a 400ex, im trying to get this old honda from a guy i know b/c i like the 400ex too much to tear it apart. pm me some pics if u do it. im interested
