Rain / Mud cover

Ok, so lets see what is available for our air filters. WORCS round 4 is in the state of Washington where the chances of it raining during the next race is good.

So show me what you have bought or made, I want to have this ready and not last minute like I usually do.

Opps it would be for the UNI filter

My friend I-Zapp made the best thing I've seen but he no longer makes them because he is out of the atv scene for now. It is the cover with the letter Z in the end of it. You may find one somewhere.
A quick and easy cover is a gallon milk jug. I cut out the bottom of the jug and use the good ole' zip ties.

We have used the milk jug fix before as well, I think now Brandon has a Gatorade bottle :o :p
Its worked great though!
Even spray painted it .:D

But how does air get to it

i built this a couple years ago for Riley Holts Predator. made of pvc and hose for a wet vac. cant remember all the parts but think it was a 4 or 6 inch coupling with a screw in plug on one end with a reducer down to 2 inches and a uni filter inside. it has 1 inch holes cut into the back for air flow.

I don't know how it effects the Mini Quads but I do know that on the Full Size Quads the Length, Shape, Volume and so on of the section of the intake between the Air Filter and Carb all play a massive roll in the performance of the bikes and I gotta think it'd be the same on the Minis, having 2-3 feet of tubing between them has got to effect the engine somehow whether good or bad.

We use a shield off of a different bike and it works super, no issues and stays on with one bolt and a zip tie, looks factory even.

it usually does but the setup i built worked great and didnt even have to rejet. i think the key was the size of the tubing and filter housing

Has anyone ever used the one Hetricks Sell? It fits up under the hood.

So do any of you using the milk jugs, Gatorade bottles or dryer hose have some pics? It looks like Mark has a unique setup. I don't know that I can or want to be that creative though. It sounds like we have chances of snow and rain for our first race this weekend. As of now it sounds like they aren't considering a cancellation. I'm hoping to see some of what you guys are talking about so we don't ruin a new motor. Thanks

Ill do some digging and see if I cant find something.
I can get some next week ,but that would be too late for you.
Were headed to a wet place to race, so we will have something on ours Im sure this next race.

Thanks Tina. That would be great if you had a pic. I hope we don't have to use it very often otherwise I might break down and buy something more fancy. Good luck with your potential wet race.

What i did was take the stock snorkel from my DRR and cut about 4 inches off of it.
Then attached a 90 degree bend of PVC from hardware store and tucked it neatly under hood.
filters had and outerwear...
to finish it all off I purchased a piece of aluminum and shaped it to block any splash from fender well
works like a champ

Thats a very good idea. I didn't get the snorkel with my 90. I suppose I could buy the PVC and make something though. My son's 50 has the snorkel and I'm going to install it tonight. I was just looking at something for the 90 and realchoosen1 has a good idea. Thanks
