That's pretty apparent. I'm going to just have the stock shocks rebuilt by Derisi or GT Thunder, but for now they're perfectly fine the way they are.

step up. 2nd picture is a decent sized double. big problem though. someone tried to roll it. bottomed out. spun the tires and made two quad tire ruts RIGHT before the lip. didnt realize it until later. on this next picturei hit the rut the fronts took off fine, then the rear tires hit the ruts, then the actual lip of the jump. send my front end into a major nosedive. the bumper was about 3 incches from slamming into the ground first. scariest quading moments ever :eek2:

just openn it in paint and then right clip and press resize, instead of 100 100 do like 50 50, if thats too big make it smaller. make sure you crop it too to get rid of all the white space...

I don't see what is so different.

He has a few things I don't...
And a few things I want...

And we have very similar taste... right down to where we put what on graphics. I even ordered a solid green seat, then canceled... because I didn't really want to try to keep that clean... and so I cut the majority of the green off the rad shroud graphics. Looks better that way on mine to me since I didn't go ahead with the green seat.


He has the Fox suspension I want... and he has the DWT wheels I want, except I also want beadlock fronts... and I may try the Kenda Kutter tires sometime, except the XC version. I would have went with those nerfs too if I had known they were out there.

Biggest difference I see is that he's MX and I'm XC.

I'd like to have my frame very similar, but Kawi green. But running XC, any paint or polish I can avoid is actually good for me.

well its kinda b/c he has what you WANT not what you have lol... and plus you guys dont even that the same graphics. I have his graphics and fox suspension with those douglas rims on a white and green KFX and I dont think mine is like his. oh and my seat is green too, what you are really trying to say is you want yours to look like his. but its cool man, im just givin you a hard time. Kutter MX tires were pretty good btw so I imagine the XC's are too. and his frame is most likely PC not paint.

Nah... I looked back and we all 3 have the same '08 One Industries Monster Graphics. We all 3 also used the front fender graphics on the rear fenders.

Only difference is that I made a cut out in the big green section of graphics that went on my shrouds... from under the Kawasaki word to the bend at the bottom.

I just thought it was too big of a section of green. I wanted a black bike with green accents, and green shrouds were too much. That's why I went for the green seat to go with... thinking it would look good... and it does look great on his. But I didn't want to try to keep that seat clean and decent.

His bike is nicer than mine and always will be. Polish/Paint/Powder is a waste of time on my XC machine. Stuff like that is messed up in one ride.

I never said we had the same bike. I was just saying we have very similar taste... You and I do too, I guess, but then again you don't also have a black bike. But I still like that the way yours is different.

Dont anodize it. Some chemicals will take the anodizing off. Powdercoat is the way to go.

well there are some differences between me and Todd's graphics and yours.. ie shroud color, ours is green yours is black. but mine is only on there temporarily. do you want it when Im done? Ill give it to your for the cost to ship it. Yeah, I custom cut that part out on mine.
Don't look right on mine with everything else so black.

Yes, I might want your graphics when they come off. It would not hurt to have them on hand for repairs. What would I do... re-shoot them with 3M adhesive or what?

Here is my 08 XC machine. I took this picture after the Heartland Challenge 10 HR Endurance Race in august so that is why the lights are little crooked in the pics. My quad was ran for a little over 7 of the 10 hrs and a little over the last 5 hrs of the race. The only breaks it got was when we switched riders and we just fueled up and sprayed the radiater down!!!

Thanks! Construction and demolition work. The green one has since been sold, the white one is all built up, and the black one is getting built with a-arms, shocks, and an axle. Most likely leaving all the motor stock so it's super reliable. At most a pipe and power commander. Heres some pics of both as they sat before we tore them down for the winter.

Thanks guys, the graphics are made by g4 for my sponsor drt motorsports. I've haven't seen anyone with them but team riders, so I'm not sure if you can actually buy them. I'll ask and see. And the pep's couldn't be better. I have a rear too, which I never quite got dialed in perfectly but it still performed well. The fronts on the other hand were awesome. Handled whatever I threw at them, easy to adjust, never felt like they faded. I needed to fab up a spacer to move the radiator shroud out for them to fit right, but it wasn't hard at all, and although it's hard to tell in the pics, it made the quad look even more BA lol.

Here's my new to me '08 KFX 450R with full DASA exhaust, Fuel Atv intake with aluminum airbox, Power Commander III, AC nerfs, Holeshot HD rear tires and I have some Pro Taper high bend bars on order. I have had YFZ 450's, TRX 450R's, LTR 450, Predators, Banshee, 400ex's, Raptors, LTZ 400's and many other quads and so far this fits me the best. It's the best of both worlds with the reverse.

As for race graphics, I really like Hetrick Racing's kit. Very nice... has number plates and all. They are made by FTR Powersports if you like the coverage but don't want the Hetrick on them.

G4 also has some very excellent sets with number plates.

Hetricks Graffics last season were made by Don at Pro-Graffix. They are teh ones with the green ghost skull in the background..

Give him a call and he can send you some proofs. he made mine and they are pretty sick looking, judging from teh proofs and others I have seen that he has made.

Props to you... I like your outside the box choices on the black/white. I dig it because it is different.

The graphics give a way different look on the different color plastics. It's cool.

I almost got the white one and put white outers on it to have an all-white one. But I knew they were expensive and I had the opportunity to pick up all-black so I did. I just never was a fan of the 2 tone with the black outers... Yet I like it reversed just fine... black inner, colored outer.

This is my 08 KFX450R that I have set up for Flat Track racing. This is the first paint job I put on it, but I have recently put another paint job on it and alot more after-market goodies. I will have pics of the new paint job soon. This quad also won me the 2009 SDTA Open Class Championship too.

Thank's I wanted the black SE model Kawi but had to go with the white/black model. My buddies kept giving crap that kawasakis should be green, so I figured that I would really irritate them. But I do have green front springs and a few other green accents...lol

Yep, if I can get paint to stick to it, I will paint it. The KFX's are safe to paint because the fenders don't flex that much. The paint is the same that goes on cars, so it's really tough. But if the plastics bend enough, any paint will flake off. As you can see, I painted my Kawi, Banshee and my son's DS90X. I recently put the knobbies back on my son's quad and mine and we are going to start riding trails again, we will see how they hold up

The part I find somewhat funny is that the DS90 looks way better than the DS450... ever noticed that?

I would like to have a wide DS90 like that for my daughter to start on. She's 11 but still small enough to ride it, and it looks a lot more stable.

But they are pretty expensive, and she's really been lagging on her growth spurt that all her friends have already had. So I am thinking about just waiting like another year and getting her a Polaris Phoenix 200 (most likely) or a Raptor 250 or 300EX if she will put more effort into learning to clutch on my 400EX.

The 90 does look alot better than the 450. I was looking at the Can-Am 450 until I sat on one, very weird feeling. I'm still very happy with the Kawi.

If I had to do it over again I would had never bought my son the Can-Am, I should of done more research on it. I loved the look of it and the stability of it is awesome but the motor is garbage. My only option was to change the motor to a 2-stroke 90 since I paid so much for it. I removed a motor out of a 01 polaris 90 and with just a few minor fabs to the frame, it bolted right up. This thing rips, it will run with the Apex's now.

I noticed that Yamaha is making a Raptor 125 that looks sweet, it claims to have the same chassis as the raptor 250. It might be something to look into to. I saw it in this months DirtWheels. There is such a big gap between the 90s and the 250s as far as options for kids. You can also find some really good deals on used Apex 90s and they have plenty of room and power and are very inexpensive to rebuild (2-stroke) The Can-Am 90 is the same size as the Apex, as you can tell by the pic of our quads, there is not a huge difference in size. Plus they are still an automatic.

My 08', just picked it up last thursday. Traded my 05 400ex and 400 bucks for her. Its all stock with only some IMS-Roll nerfbars. I think I got a pretty good deal on it but I've never owned anything but honda before so we will see how it holds up. :p

Yep, if I can get paint to stick to it, I will paint it. The KFX's are safe to paint because the fenders don't flex that much. The paint is the same that goes on cars, so it's really tough. But if the plastics bend enough, any paint will flake off. As you can see, I painted my Kawi, Banshee and my son's DS90X. I recently put the knobbies back on my son's quad and mine and we are going to start riding trails again, we will see how they hold up

very nice quad i had a kfx and had bad luck with it i know they dont have any top end what do u have done for motorwork for flat track ?

Yeah the story with the the front fenders, Took some heavy roost at the beginning of the season and they crack so i cut em, Then decided to put the black outer part on and did a little trimming on them too lol

this is a picture of what I did with the front fender after it cracked, ran it for a while like that, but then put the black back on it, also check out what i did to my stock hood, The next picture is my new wheels, I like the aluminum more then the hipers, Third Pic is an action shot of it in Kentucky At Nickota Motorsports Park, 4th pic is our quads we raced last year, For next year the kfx450 look a little different, the yfz jut got green plastic to fit in lol, and the 400 was my little brothers he moving up to 450, has a ds450 we are working on building, it will be green also,
