She likes them pretty well. They are the first real boots she's ever had but she likes them. I have Sidi boots and she wants a pair of them. Lol

Duster, get some Gaerne Boots. I have a pair of SG12's that I LOVE, and a pair of sg10's that are still in the box. Ill part with either set for a reasonable amount if you need a pair

That brand was around back in the day.

Are they still quality like they were?

I want to be able to pivot my foot up AND down at the anke.

And I want to have some ability to feel the pegs beneath my feet like I do in work boots.

I've been looking at the SG10's and SG12's for a long time now... just wondering how they might be.

I was unhappy the most with the soles on the boots I bought. I didn't think I would ever get over that, so I sent them back. They were stiff, thick, and maybe had a steel shank or something in them. May as well have been 2 bricks with rubber coating under my feet.

well if it makes you feel any better, I will never wear anything but sg12's unless something better comes out b/c these are IT. I have wore Tech 8's, Tech 10's, Scott Genius, Berik OVS and 661 Hurricane boots, NONE have been close to how good and safe and flexible SG12's are. I forget I have boots on at races until I try to run lol

Actually that's in my signature because someone actually said it and I felt the world needed to know. FYI I never had a sig until I saw that and felt it was sig worthy. As for the color, you must be a helluva lot more color blind than me cause I can even tell that's not purple. Referring to the Tecate. Hope they let you in at the track

What he is saying is that Kawasaki went through a purple phase there for a while and put purple on quads and bikes, etc...

Not particularly that shade of purple, but who cares?

His version of paying a little homage to the old school while doing a little something to set himself apart at the race track.

Purple, pink, hunter orange, safety yellow.... all of those are examples of things that work for that.


But then people that don't understand this have probably never even attended a race to understand that at all.

From the holeshot on it often becomes very hard to tell one brand of quad from the other sometimes, much less one rider from the other. If you want people to be able to keep up with you during the event, it is often a good idea to do a little something different that is easy to pick out from the crowd.

Hell last race I was at I saw a guy on a Honda with a piece of caution tape whiping in the wind like a streamer from his helmet. Only way you could pick him out from 100 other riders on the same Honda after the first splash of mud.

A lot of other stuff was too... Lakota had a purple seat one year, purple plastics another... kids quads had purple as did the bikes.

Honestly, all that on the Kawasakis looks blue to me. I'm surprised everyone is taking me so serious. I figured by now everyone would know how sarcastic I am. Personally I wouldn't do my quad like that but I own the TLD SE Vegas gear. If you've ever seen that it looks a box of crayons. Friends tell me it has purple or pink in it. I have to be told because like I said I'm extremely color blind when it comes to blues/purples lol

That purple frame is sick, I was thinking of doing the same thing as a throw back to 1995. Heres my 1995 KLX custom 700:cool: sumo.

The purple is skewed by my Iphone, but it mimicks the purple on the seatcover. This thing has 24k miles and looks brand new still. Someone beat me to the purple frame. Now you need a purple seatcover

I have always liked the lime/blue and lime/purple combo Kawi's....

I just happened to get an offer I couldn't refuse on my black KFX... $3,000 and tax cheaper than the same thing with all green plastic.

Who could pass that up?... 3 bones buys a lot of plastic... lol...

I have grown to like the black OK but would like to do green plastics, and a blue or purple seat and frame.... probably should do the purple since my girls like their daddy to give them a ride.

But I just have a hard time considering paint/powder over my aluminum frame, especially since it is an XC quad.


I might just do the black/lime Fox gear with the pink splatter on it for my daughters so they can pick daddy out from the other riders at the track when it's not a mud fest.

I should get pics of my frame as im building the bike. I have a brand new kfx that i have a walsh stem/front end on with a built motor I havent yet to even put oil in yet with the stock bare frame. For the second year now, I have had my race bike bead blasted and clearcoated. I like the look a lot and it holds up quite well without the frame being stained from all the crap.

i had a fuel intake before. but i made a complete new one, i am using a LTR 450 intake tube. and i had to order 4"x 4" air filters made by K and N. i cut the orginal mid pipe through all the welds and just by turing the bends i was able to create this, i then just added the lower mount to the silencer, and made the mounts for the sub frame. ill get more pictures up later, i started a new thread. i was just getting tired of wrecking exhausts from rocks and hitting my calipars. plus i think it looks sweeet, first one in the world : )

For everyone that hated on my quad on pages 27 and 28 of this thread, i think the purple turned out pretty sweet when everything was done and the graphics brought it al together, brought it to two places so far and it gets a lot of compliments, glad I went with the purple after all.

I can answer that, BEST WOODS TIRES I HAVE EVER RIDDEN, They are stiff and hood up like crazy better then holeshots, holeshot sr's, kenda claws or the standard razrs, In my opinion, We took our quads to michigan to ride the trails up there one year and to get to the main (snowmobile) trail you had to ride on the road for a few miles, Mine still look pretty darn good with a good bit of tread left. They hook up like crazy. All i ride is mx now days, but if i was racing woods i'd go with them. unless there is something better I havent tried ... maybe gncc's???

only had them on for 2 days :D bought them used off my best friend for $50 lol but they have about 5 good solid rides at our favorite park and they dont show any signs of wear except the way they were going the knobbs are very slightly rounded but in my 15 min on them they hook like crazy lol even in the snow, but the are definatly a beefy tire. i like them though

That looks awesome. I'm surprised that there was so much negativity about that, since I assumed it was common knowledge that Kawi ran the grn/purple throughout most of the 90s. Good job, i like it.
