have any of you guys made any custom go karts or mini bikes or anything like that? what did you use for engines and have you done and custom performance mods since there isnt exactly a big market for small engine performace parts(as far as i know)

Look into some go cart racing sites. Many build standard 5hp Briggs motors into 13-14hp monsters. A cheap alternative is a generator motor. I bought one for $50, turned the shaft down and changed the carb and had about 13hp in a go cart that weighed under 150lbs.

if you are wanting to buy a new motor biggs makes a high performance engine just for go carts and mini drags. you would have to contact a high performance o cart business to have them order you one.

yeah i saw these racing motors on the briggs site i just had no idea where to buy them and they didnt list prices so for all i know theyre like $3000 lol

yeah i think they are called raptors or something like that. my dad is a briggs dealer and he said that he catn get them because he doesnt specialize in racing carts, weird i thought.

you might also check in jegs or summitt racing, i know that i have seen some engines and some aftermarket stuff like heads, carbs, and clutches. it under their jr dragsters section.

i want to build a go cart like i seen on pinks one night. they had yz 125 engines in them. the drivers had to wear special outfits due to the g's they would create in the corners. top speed was about 120mph

get on you tube and type in go cart they had one that had a cbr1000 motor on it, insane is the only wrod to describe it.

those are amazing. that would be such a rush, but i dunno if i have the balls to slide around like that without a roll cage or something over my head. one thing goes wrong and your neck is a toothpick. if i could get a hold of something like that it would go into an off road go kart so i could ride with the quads!!

what are some alternatives to street bike motors? i would love to have that much power but with reverse
