Jon Guetter sets his sights on world record jump!!

From his humble beginings here on atvriders.com as an aspiring young freestyle rider, to being the first rider ever to land a complete back flip on a quad, Jon now heads for well over the 200 foot mark as he attempts a new world record!

thanks, just a little update before i head out to the track. yesturday i hit 180ft 4th pinned in the wind. there's no wind today and im hittin 5th! wish me luck and i'll have an update when i get home.

That was on a bike.

This is on a quad. Twice the wheels and damn near twice the weight. Also takes twice the balls to jump it that far!:devil:

I'm beginning to feel the way I felt when i knew he was going to backflip, the very first time, and then jump a moving TRAIN and now the distance record in front of a huge crowd.:ermm: This stuff makes my stomach turn!!!

We just got Kolten his bike to start practicing on. I am sure something amazing will come out of that kid this summer.

Yeah, he just got his Can-Am.

I think Kolten will adjust really quickly. I mean, he wasn't even on his own bike when he did the 170' jump.

Since I can't ride my DS for a while, I just sent my long travel shocks up to Kolten and Joe to ride with.

Longest distance jump ramp to ramp by a quad motorcycle - Jon Guetter existing record was 148.9 feet the new record is 176 feet 11 inches

I got this info off of a website so i can't say if its 100% official or not.

Not bad for the conditions - entirely stock Can-Am DS450;)

Haha i was there to see that. it was in bardstown, ky. its kinda crazy to meet someone like that before they get to be a well known rider. i knew he was gonna go far in the sport but man! he changed freestyle.

hell yeah i remember all that stuff from back in the day. his bars broke in the competition and somebody tossed him some new ones i think. im pretty sure that was in h5?

Just got done talking to him - said his run up had water puddles on it.

But he said he made the best of the situation though!

Flip record was canceled because of rain as well.

well the whole night was kind of a bummer. rain moved in and soaked everything and the wind direction changed from a side wind to head wind. but one thing we did find out is that a DS450X with only an RPM axle, Maxxis Rzr tires, Motoworks Exhaust will fly 176.11ft with a 38tooth rear sprocket pinned in 5th hitting the ramp at 70mph. i'll give a more in depth look into how everything went in a few days when we do a little story about it. thanks for the support everyone

I took Kolten out a couple weeks ago for his first all out ride on the DS. He said the suspension and power were great and really liked how easy it was to move around in the air. He looked smooth on it almost instantly. I would guess we'll be seeing more jumps from him before long.
I'll let him know how you did, Jon. I'm sure that will give him even more incentive.

Thanks for that post TrapZ400!!! I hadn't seen anything, or spoken to Jon in weeks if everything went ok. It's too bad the weather was so good at practice and rain the day of the show.:( I read the promoters spent alot of money for that one night!! Happy that Maddo made it threw fine!!
