I took the 426 topend off today to put a crf cam chain in since it was getting noisy. Im going to have the head/valves done while its apart and also want to rering it.

Wheres the best place to get the rings its a wiseco. Do i need to get them directly from wiseco ?

you should be able to order the rings from anyone that carries wiseco as long as you know that you have a 426 for sure

I need to go pick up a mic or take it to the shop to be sure but im pretty sure its 88mm

I dont live far from wiseco and ill be there this monday anyway so ill probably just drop by w/ the piston and have them set me up w/ some rings

Thanks for the replies

Yes, its a 426 for sure. Unless you have rode it a bunch, it shouldn't need rings yet, although you do have that head off, so it wouldn't be much trouble. Cylinder looks good doesn't it. :)

ya the cylinder still looks good had some carbon buildup at the top where the rings dont ride but i cleaned it up. still had a some crosshatch visible. I figured while it was off might as well rering it.

Its a wiseco piston right?

Yes, wiseco 426 piston. I had the bore fit a tighter tolerance on the rings as well so thats why I was sure to tell you to let it warm up. Higher compression as well.
