I didn't know pingry's made an air box, you can save money by just taking the lid off the stock air box, billet aluminum ones look good, but they cost around $200 bucks.

For the same price as the Pingry box you can get one of these that holds ALL of the electrical components, not just the battery. Also, I can save you 70-100 dollars on a new oil tank, since you mentioned that in another post. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

I would check out the CFM Airbox and Oil Tank. He can get you a way better deal if you get both at the same time. Plus CFM has a Airbox with a Lid and allows you to use the stock Snorkel.

Yeah. u got me interested. I ride in muddy conditions alot. So I love the Idea of a lid. I understand that your CFM air box has a lid? Also the looks are nice. Do you have an aim adress? What could the price on one of them. Thanks alot. And I like what you said about the oil tank too.;)

I have a CFM box exactly like the one CFM posted, i can say it is really well built. My only problem is i dont know if it will work with a long travel rear shock..If it is in the way, its for sale, its brand new, never even mounted on the quad, just taken out of the plastic to look at....im gonna see if it fits today.

All of my Honda parts are available on ebay. Just search by seller cfm-performance and you can see everything on one page. The 400 box with the lid is different than the one in the pic. And BTW trx400ex, we have built over 100 of this style and so far I have not heard from anyone having trouble using it with a long travel shock. My partner runs this style of airbox on his quad with TCS zero preload shocks and has had no problems with anything hitting.

my bad, ..i use a custom Custom Axis shock...it requires the rear shock mount to be moved up and uses a longer shock... someone else said they tried it and it didnt work because it hit

Dumb Question.... Is your CFM Oil tank any bigger than stock. And if so, how much does this help?

Yes it is 1 quart bigger like the Pingry's. It is suppose to help cool the motor down, and I would think the oil would be better with an extra quart in there.

WarriorMan is correct. It holds a quart more than the stock tank. The extra oil volume allows the amount of oil available to circulate through your motor less often. Hot oil returning from the motor is allowed to stay in the tank longer (and cool longer) before it is drawn into the engine again.

do they make them for a 300ex?? and if so do they have a lid and are they water resistant?? cause i rid at a river and go in deep water were i need it to be water tight.

I don't think anybody makes a different Airbox for the 300ex. I know Pingry's and CFM don't.

Try FDO Racing in Ohio, phone # (740) 967-1078. I got an oil tank and air box that holds all my electrics and they are nice quality stuff. I have also seen cfm and they are nice to.

CFM, I think i saw that you made an oil tank for the z400 too. Do you have a pic of it and does it hold extra oil?

Sorry to keep you waiting guys! I get on here as much as possible but only about once a day. A friend of mine is bringing his '98 300EX over on Thursday and we are going to design an airbox for it. We should have something in a week or two. We have an airbox available for the Z400 and are working on an oversize oil tank for it. Heres a pic of the 400EX oil tank for $169.95

Here is the one that was custom made for my 400EX. Neal (CFM) welds so great compared to the pigray oil tanks. Believe me I compared them and CFM wins hand down on workmanship and customer satifaction. Keep up the great work Neal.:D

Did you have to ask them to put cooling tubes in tank? Why do they not come that way, maybe cfm doesn't think it makes a difference?

dose that tank work with aftermarket headers like my LRD cause it looks a little close

The tubes cost more money $200.00 for tank this way. You need to ask Neal (CFM) what headers it will clear.

If you have a Stabilizer that goes from the stem to the front frame tube you should be ok, but with a PEP I don't know. Yes I think a K&N will work in both styles of boxes. The headers I have no idea. I would think it would fit though.

Thanks guys for helping to answer questions when I'm not on here. OK, what else do we make. Seven airboxes, two (3 soon) oil tanks, chromoly and aluminum tie rods, 20 fin supercoolers, 250R exhaust flange, 400EX adjustable strut, front and rear lowering kits for most Yamahas, and bumpers, grab bars and a-arms by spring time.
The 400EX oil tank takes a bit of work to get it in there. Some exhaust systems may need to be removed to make room for the install, but it bolts right up.
I'm told the PEP dampner doesn't work with anyones oversized tank but a Denton unit does fit. One of my dealers gave me that info.
All of our airboxes accept a K&N filter as well as other brands, UNI, Twin Air etc.
Pingry threatened to sue me for putting tubes in our tank, claiming patent pending protection. I have someone working on that to see what our options are. We're trying to work around it and develop something more efficient than six holes in the tank for cooling.
Methyman has one of my tanks and had an HMF exhaust system on his quad. The HMF pipe is so large that there was no way to make room for an oversized tank, no matter how far forward in the chassis we moved it. Other than that, I have not heard of anyone having a problem with the fit. (Sorry Matthew!)

Hey i know this is off the subject sorta but i want to tell everyone how great CFM is..Neal the person i spoke with was very nice and understanding and they make good products.I would choose CFM over Pingry any day...Neal at CFM is going to make me a custom oil tank for my YZF426/400ex conversion when i get ready for the oil part...

Umm... whats the 20 fin supercooler. Is that like the oil cooler, or is it fins that attach to your motot? Thanks

It is a in line cooler for water cooled motors to help in rid the motor of heat in the coolant system.
