Your getting maxamps pack correct?

i would suggest looking into the new trackpowers, they have a few different packs to choose from now and you could also look into the flightpowers or Nue lipos if you have a big budget.

I personally run a 3s maxamps 5000 in my brushless LS10 truggy i converted from nitro to electric. Im getting 40-45 minutes of runtime with my Feiago 9L and modded mamba max esc. You ought to visit RC-Monster.com and check out the forums theyve got great info on lipos, and everything brushless you can think of.

btw what charger are you going to be using?

Nice run time you have;) I'm getting the Maxamps RTR kit with the Hyperion duo charger. I've read the Maxamps are only so-so compared to the top brands but i'm sure they will be good enough for now:)

I've been reading rc-monster for a little while trying to pick up a few tips here and there but alot of it is over my head:ermm:

Once I get used to it i'll think about the Mamba Max and Feiago 8XL or something along those lines, and wire my two 8K into 4s.

good plan you have there, i have the same screen name on there as on here, so if you have any questions they can really help alot so dont beafraid to post and dont think its over your head, the more you read and ask questions the sooner youll get the picture your after ;), with the maxamps packs ive found as long as you dont push them too hard and ALWAYS charge with a balancer (not an issue with the new hyperion chargers since theirs are built in) you shouldnt have any problems, also i would suggest going ahead and gettiing a LVC and set it to 3.1 or 3.2 V per cell this will give you a little leway incase the 8000s come out of balance a little under discharge, i havent had this happen with my 5000 but its only made of 3 single 5000 cells your 8000s will be made of TWO pairs of 4000 cells in each 8000 battery.

AND NEVER let the lipos sit for more than a couple hours discharged below their nominal voltage, some people swear by keeping them at nomial voltage when storing some keep them at full charge, ive done both and both work fine.

sorry for all the talk ;) i just like to make sure people get a run thorugh on stuff incase they missed something in their own reading, have fun with it and send it off some sweet jumps:D !

Thanks for the info:) I think i've seen your name over there, I have the same one there too along with traxxas.com, nitrokillers.com, rcgroups.com... :p

Cell Shield is on the way too and those were the numbers I was planning on setting it at;)

I think Maxamps recommends storing lipos at 50% and cyling every 30 days.

Nice jump!:D

Very nice.
I always wanted to switch from the T-Maxx to a Brusless E-Maxx.
Nitro can just be annoying.

Heres my T-Maxx, I rebuilt it ground up 2 or 3 years ago, ran it once for like 30 sec, had a clutch problem and never touched it since :P
All brand new Revo Drive train, UE diff gears, RPM all around, brand new 3.3 Engine. Such a waste :P

And my Brushless Mini-T.
So fast it breaks it self, don't even have to hit anything :P
Mamba Comp and 8cell Elites.

Beat Your Truck forums r prolly the best i think
i have a smaxx that i made 4x4 and have humpack and i "ported"
the motor but i need a new oneway bearing and ezstart or pullstart dont have the money right now

Which 450?
03-27-2008, 06:13 PM
I got a few r/cs to, I got a revo, ofna gtp, hpi hellfire, ae rc18b 8kv brushless and 3c lipo, and a losi LST (which is for sale). Plus 4 planes, a gas semi-symetrical trainer, 2 electric foam biplanes, and a 3d electric foamie. I run spektrum in all my stuff also, so I got one radio for the ground, one for the air.

I had a T-MAXX and I still have a NITRO 4-TEC. Nitro's are fun but frustrating as hell. Traxxas is the way to go if you want to just mess around and not compete. Still the car I had the most fun with was my old Rustler I got back in freshman year of high school. I re-did the whole thing not too long back with a speed control, 18T race motor, and full bearing kit. Drove it two days and my buddy crashed it and bought me new parts but I haven't touched it. Still sitting in a plastic bag in pieces in my garage. What a waste.

Which 450?

imo, the people that think they are a waste, dont know how to work on them. Tuning is extremely important with these things also.

Tuning isnt the problem most of the time, I had pistons last 8-9 gallons of beating the piss out of it. The rest of the truck, esp the drive train just falls apart.
I'm sure the Revo and 3.3 stuff is better though.

I have a hpi savage but it's broke right now. I launch it off huge jumps and it's amazing the amount abuse the thing takes. If any of you have to Jolly roger's in N.H I launched it off suicide hill and it broke it pretty good. Never got around to fixing it, but it's a ton of fun when it works.

Well you have to set it up correctly. nothing of mine has the stock motor except the GTP, which has held up excellent for as much as i beat it. Everyone told me that with the 8kv mamba brushless in the rc18b I would need metal diffs... well abotu 20 battery runs later im on the same plastic ones i started with. It also needs to be set up with the diff shimmed extremely tight. Right now I only have one car to run, my mini baja thing by losi, i forgot I had it till last night. I had to send my spektrum out, it was acting up and I needed my antenna repaired.

first thing i would do with that is get rid of the aluminum skids and buy rpm plastic ones. those aluminum skids dont give very well and when you hit something you are bound to break some of the plastic parts or snap screws off in other aluminum parts.
