Does anyone know any cheap tricks to get more hp out of a 400ex?

There's quite a few, but the best ones that wont cost much are:
- K&N filter
- Slip on pipe
- Re-jet
- Grind welds on headpipe
- Remove choke
- Modify airbox (I drilled a series of 2" holes in mine, and then glued some foam filter material to the inside over the holes... stays pretty clean inside.)

All of these mods are pretty self explainitory, and some cost $0.00!!

Yeah, the throttle thing happened to me once. I thought my bike was just a piece of crap, turns out I was only getting about 3/4 throttle! I'll tell ya', after riding it like that for a while, when I finally fixed it, it was like getting a brand new bike!

Ok for anyone who wants to know about what the adjusted throttle is, the is an adjuster next to the actual thumb throttle, it has a rubber sleeve over it, just slide it off and take the play out of it. I recommend doing this while the bike is running because if you go too far it will turn the idle up.:blah
